My reasoning was, in short, that Irish coffee is:
- Unpretentious but still comes in a classy glass
- Simultaneously calming, comforting, and energizing
- A social drink without being a party drink; I associate it with after-dinner conversations with friends
- Sweet (irish cream), but still has a kick (whiskey)
So you and your date walk into a bar . . . why didn't at least one of you notice it first? Ouch!
Hope is the denial of reality. It is the carrot dangled before the draft horse to keep him plodding along in a vain attempt to reach it. We should remove the carrot and walk forward with our eyes open. -- Raistlin Majere
