    Ah.....so much heart.

Shame though, because now I can't do it.

I see your stare, like lyrics to my mind.

I wonder what it is you see, that I cannot perceive.

You were always there and I was glad of that,

For you were joyous without rationale in ways I could never explain.

But I was caught in that joy,

It reminded me of the inexorable tide.

The grip of striving that only life knows,

    Growing, becoming.

But in the end I only grew so far.

And you surpassed me without effort.

    But I was glad,

    For I remembered the joy.

Oooh....a place for poetry. I like poetry.

Dew drops on garden spider’s web

remind me it isn’t the web

    which is special.

    My hands earned no talent

    my face, no beauty

    save like the web

    the reflection of a designer.
A student said to his master: "You teach me fighting, but you talk about peace. How do you reconcile the two?" The master replied: "It is better to be a warrior in a garden than to be a gardener in a war." - unknown/Chinese

    The game was tight
    all through the night
    until daylight
    then they had a fight
    with all their might
    one suffered a bite
    and it was not right
    for one lost his sight
    and then took flight
    into the night
    Said he, "not quite!
    The moon is white,
    and my vision is slight."
    He rejoined the fight
    with all his might
    and though his height
    alas was slight,
    he did smite
    each with a blight
    And in twilight
    by candlelight,
    this poem did write
    in hopes that his plight
    would excite.

    Poetry
Brevity is the soul of wit
    Somebody witty once said
But if 'tis so then I must not be witty
For this gives me aches in my head

Poetry is exactly what one feels
    Someone must have stated
But if 'tis so what I think I feel
    Must be overrated

    When tranquil poetry flows
Like a lotus down the stream
Is what we all must think
But if 'tis so then when I am enlightened
I will be famous in a blink

Poetry is a high art form
I think that I must wait
Until my feelings flowing into witty art
    Truly becomes my fate

    Oh, bad poetry

    I Did Win Once

    I did win once
    I will admit
    I won a cake
    with a blade in it

    I won a vase
    with a visible crack
    and I was called ungrateful
when I tried to give it back

    I won a gold medal
but all the gold rubbed off
and when I realized it was plastic
I felt cheated and ripped off

I won a ribbon just for trying
with some smiles and grand lines
but it turns out they were lying
and just wanted to seem kind

    I won a debate, then a fight
and the bruises were the badge
but then once I was in the light
I saw no trace of wounds so bad

I won a trip to Disneyland
and on the plane home I cried
    because the happiness cost too much;
    my only souvenir was lies

I won your heart once too
or so I thought I did
but then I snapped out of daydream
and saw you kiss her lips

And every time you think it's time to celebrate
    the sky falls again

    Some people win
    Some do succeed
but not people like you or me

    Yes every time I celebrate
    the sky comes crashing in
Often a star was waiting for you to notice it. A wave rolled toward you out of the distant past, or as you walked under an open window, a violin yielded itself to your hearing. All this was mission. But could you accomplish it? (Rilke)
