I have lyrics & things I've written before, which took more time/actual focus (though who knows if they're any better/worse than the crap above, haha), but those are private.

-Also- to my opening story.. I challenged @Jonnyboy in return. 5-minute poem. He took a bit longer, but it was decent. *cough*
It's true, it took her only 5 minutes. /impressed

Also, she's being too kind with her "He took a bit longer, but it was decent." It took me like an hour, it was half of a poem, and it was terrible.

Really? I'll admit I find poetry comes fairly easily, albeit not necessarily very good poetry.

Also thanks for the contributions peoples, keep em coming.

It wasn't. If it was bad I'd never go out of my way to mention it again, hah.

    So how do I start

If a good poem can't look smart

You make it silly yet deep

    And if done right

    Might make emo NFs weep

Which brings us to this thread

That's gonna wake up the dead

"This Must Be the Place" and "Burning Down the House" have lyrics that are random and nonsensical (David Byrne says so) but they're still awesome. Sometimes nonsense can be wildly successful.

    Given time to seek
    We all find answers
    Given time confined
    Some find questions

    Questions that live
    Inside as an oar
    To paddle against the wind
    And make headway

    Creating knowns of unknowns
    And blessing with fresh unknowns
    Those minds that first
    Spend time inside

    Inside the body
    Inside the mind

    I'm tired
    My eyes hurt
    I feel I'm mired
    Stuck in the dirt

I don't want to eat ramen
    but my body says yes
    My soul feels conflicted
    like a hornets nest

    Stay awake motherfucker
"Nah, I'm gonna go to bed"
So before I shut off my laptop
I might as well hit "Send"

None of these can ever be as good as "Life Is Very Pain"...

    @man, where are you?
