What do you do for adventure?

I think I used to have more opportunities for this when I was younger, especially when I was at university and there were lots of social outlets and clubs and societies, some of which did things like caving/speleology (spelling) but right now, I guess, if I want adventure I'm turning to books or movies to provide it and its a kind of vacarious or in/of the mind experience.

What about everyone else? What is the essence of adventures?

Professional organizations are a good "replacement" for university organizations. I get plenty of adventure out of them.

I view "adventure" broadly as "branching out into new territory," which I do moreso in the mental landscape--trying new things (that aren't necessarily intensely physical), playing a new role, facing fears, etc. etc.

I argue with people and challenge all boundaries to achieve the impossible! It must all pass through the refiner's fire to forge the right sword for the coming battle! We must rise with courage to overcome all adversity and rise ever higher up the sparkling mountain of achievement.

I like hiking (and skiing, when I can afford it)

And this. For me, it could be exploring a neighborhood I'm not as familiar with, trying a new type of food, doing something that is tricky for me, talking to a new person, etc.
Your kisses, sweeter than honey. But guess what, so is my money.

I would like to forge a sword right enough, I'd like to own a decent sword to begin with but I'd like to forge one too and make it from scratch.

my idea of adventures used to be getting into cars with sketchy dudes from my neighborhood and seeing what happened. I somehow never got kidnapped and only got in one car accident!

Live in different cities, reside with immigrants, stay in hostels, run off to the beach without telling anyone where I'm going, have liaisons with boys, and argue with people on the Internet.

I also like all of these things. Except for skiing.

I love trying different foods and talking to people from different places or who speak different languages.

I like when someone's EXPERIENCES are very different from mine, even if I seem more easily offended by particular opinions.

Oh I just saw this really cool video of a guy making an ax himself. It was strangely beautiful!
