The people in the thread who were able to answer the question correctly.

I've never been good at math. I was so excited to have a Soviet mathematician as my math professor in college, who made math sound so interesting, and pissed off at least one ISTJ, who promptly said he was withdrawing from the class because of all of this "unnecessary shit."

I made the first A in math since 7th grade pre-algebra.

I got beatings for my math grades.

So you people sure know your math. I think I'll stick to my interest in the liberal arts.

You're cute. As I said, it's an OLD joke. Emphasis on "old." Mathematicians don't get the joke; old people get the joke.

    Great, I'm also not old.

    Time to stop self-deprecating.

    I expect you'll remember this:

    Off our rockers, actin' crazy
With the right medication we won't be lazy
    Doin' the old folks boogie
    Down on the farm
Wheelchairs, they was locked arm in arm
Paired off pacemakers with matchin' alarms
Gives us jus' one more chance
    To spin one more yarn

And you know that you're over the hill
When your mind makes a promise that your body can't fill
    Doin' the old folks boogie
    And boogie we will
'Cause to us the thought's as good as a thrill

    Back at the home,
    No time is your own,
Facillities there, they're all out on loan
The bank foreclose, and your bankruptcy shows
And your credit creeps to an all-time low
So you know, that you're over the hill
When your mind makes a promise that your body can't fill

Try and get a rise from an atrophied muscle,
And the nerves in your thigh just quivers and fizzles
So you know, that you're over the hill
When your mind makes a promise that your body can't fill

I think I understand, but an isosceles triangle? Wouldn't it be an equilateral?

I still don't entirely grasp how East and West function at the poles either. Do they become curved along the lines of latitude or is there a sort of 'True East/West' perpendicular to the Earth's axis? I assume it's the former, so why would a triangle apply at all?

Goddamn it, I need diagrams for this shit. I'm a visual thinker.

Acknowledging oldness isn't self-deprecating unless you think old is bad. Which is a common American concept. I'm kinda old but it's cool. Old people are awesome. And I've heard enough of these joke/puzzle thingies in my old life that I get them immediately now.
