I've only read a handful of Stephen's posts, but I like him well enough. Very...benign and nonthreatening. It probably takes a lot to make you angry.

EJCC: Always cheerful and enthusiastic, full of motivation to use Te to improve the world. Direct, honest, logical, and seems to turn every debate into a friendly discussion.

    (I've been waiting for you to show up . . . )

Greenfairy is a rare and wonderful combination of whimsy and earnestness, alternating serious contemplation of deep topics with lighthearted observations and humor. She seems committed to learning and self-improvement, doesn't take herself too seriously, and has much to share, here and elsewhere.

Actually Coriolis is female. I thought the same thing at first because she usually has males in her avatars and doesn't come across as particularly feminine, and we had an enlightening conversation about it. I think her seeming online ambiguity is a strength because it challenges people's assumptions about gender and about her, and really takes it out of the equation.

I've extolled Coriolis' virtues many a time in other threads, so I won't do it here, other than to say that what people have said so far is right on.

Lark has a sincere desire to attain truth about the world and how it should be. He thinks critically about issues and cares about the people involved.

@Peguy is probably one of the best stimulators of intellectual conversations on vent. he is knowledgeable to the extreme, aware of the most obscure references, and will inspire you to google fascinating things, while actually having the patience to explain them. he is for history & culture what ygolo is for math & science.

He could switch of a lot of that rationality and listen to the heart a bit, but besides that he's a modest, reasonable and wise man.

Entropie is great at generating and thoughtfully considering creative, unusual, even bizarre ideas of all sorts. He seems kind, humble in the best sense, and brings a refreshing and genuine presence to the threads he joins.

I always enjoy her posts and insights. These terms are thrown around perhaps too much....but definitely very intelligent and perceptive.

Someone who I love to engage and discuss with. Certainly a person to be valued in my book. This is perhaps a bit mawkish, but I mean it all the same.
'One of (Lucas) Cranach's masterpieces, discussed by (Joseph) Koerner, is in it's self-referentiality the perfect expression of left-hemisphere emptiness and a precursor of post-modernism. There is no longer anything to point to beyond, nothing Other, so it points pointlessly to itself.' - Iain McGilChrist

Suppose a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?"
"Suppose it didn't," said Pooh, after careful thought.
    Piglet was comforted by this.
