Of course dog people are more sociable. Dogs are noisy, annoying, and needy. It's not that I hate dogs, I actually like SOME dogs, but I'm picky about the dog. I like well-behaved dogs. I could marry a dog trainer and be okay with that. It's all of those OTHER PEOPLE and their UNTRAINED DOGS.
But yeah I'm a cat person. They're quieter and take their own space more, while still being affectionate and entertaining.

Cat person: I value intelligence and independence. I love a few breeds of dogs- shepherds, mainly. Cats are squishy and they stare weirdly. I can also pick up a cat- can't pick up too many dogs.
A lot of dogs are too stupid for me, bark too much, tear my shoes up...with cats, I've only ever had to get a lint roller for the hair. I'm also extremely extroverted and open, though I score low on agreeable, much to the NFJs that surround me.
Excuse me, but does this smell like chloroform to you?
