Are there any true benefits to having one?
Yes. They make it easier for the penis to go all-in during doggy position.
Are there a significant number of men/women that like them? What cultures tend to appreciate them?
Depends on how small. Many seem to like big breasts & small-medium butt.
What is up with people putting other people down?
    They are suckers.

Oh they do. People say "flat chested" all the time, and I think the expression is insulting in itself. Small breasts aren't flat. Or "real women have curves," like thin women aren't "real."

People suck. Often it's overweight or otherwise insecure people trying to make themselves feel better.

On the bright side, there is a porn site I like which is rather classy, which has a lot of natural looking girls with small breasts and butts. (I'd post the link here, but that might get me banned.) I think it's encouraging. Most men I think like women in many shapes and sizes, within a range according to their individual preferences.

I would think a small, toned butt is better than a flabby big butt but there are those gifted individuals who have big toned butts. Lol

I have a small butt - it was in style in the 80's which suited me fine, but now my 21 yo daughter laughs at how little it is. :/ Commenting on such a thing does seem to be more prevalent over the last 10 years or so.

Heck, I was 20 lbs overweight and still fit in the same jeans. How could my butt just stay the same size - I just don't know.

I was on a bike ride a few weeks ago, rode behind a pair of dudes and their one lady friend. She had a small but incredibly shapely athlete-ass and great legs, which is what happens when you're a triathlete.

I think a lot of cyclists enjoy "showing off their goods". I'll admit I'm a little vain too (and am a cyclist). One week I rode around Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, and several cyclists seemed to do this too.

Yeah, lol. I rode behind the girl in question for a few miles, but had to pass eventually because I couldn't justify my presence vis-a-vis their low speed. I felt like a conspicuous 'lycra-letch'.

Sometimes girls in cycling groups are funny and have said "I gotta pee...I'm going to go over here in the bushes. Don't look". Lol and I have felt tempted to..Lol yea there's some fantasy that has gone on.

My husband and a few guy friends have commented numerous times on my cut little butt... I'm guessing they don't think it's a bad thing. Don't know about the small breast thing... I haven't been an A cup since early college. I turned in my IBTC membership card a long time ago... I'd honestly rather go back to smaller breast than my C's.
