    MONA

On the other hand, if you would like to visit an idiosyncratic museum at the other end of the Earth, bought, paid for and stocked by a successful Australian gambler, who lives in his museum on a peninsula in the Derwent river, why not visit MONA (Museum of Old and New Art) in Tasmania, not all that far from Antarctica.

Mona is described as a subversive adult Disneyland and the multi-million dollar, mostly underground, building is full of beautiful, shocking, disturbing and thought-provoking art from around the world. Warning: some of the images might offend.

MONA is very popular with the public.

I should find time to go this year. I've only heard good things about MONA.
