I'll be spending Valentine's Day with my band.

My husband is awesome enough to postpone our "something special" to the weekend... because it really isn't any different from any other day if you are doing things right.
Masquerading as a normal person day after day is exhausting.

We'll be going to the gym. One of the best days of the year to go to the gym.

I don't have a big problem with the day, or with the concept. But, I've always been single or with a person who heaps a load of resentment onto it/is really negative about it, so that we've never done anything on it. So, I've never had one where it's just a nice happy pleasant thing where both are doing something special or anything like that.

    I enjoy Valentines day.

Either for the mushyness when I'm with someone I'm a hopeless romantic at heart (that heart is just buried beneath 6 miles of ice mostly made up of cynicism).

Or for partying when I'm single (as now). Flirting's much easier when the girl you've been talking has been reminded all day that she's not with anyone.

I like it and always have, even though I was very lonely for many years. But I guess I'm a little odd. I just like thinking about love. But not in a cheesy ostentatious way, just knowing it exists.

I don't technically have a boyfriend, just a couple of lovers, and one is jealous of the other at the moment while the other is thinking about his ex again. So I could be upset, but I'm not, because I know they both love me as a friend. And I spent the other night with the couple I'm close with, so it's all groovy.

It just so happens to coincide with my friend's birthday. We had someone over, did shots at midnight, turned music to 11 and danced, slid off the banister and ran down the middle of the street. Technically not V-day activity, but plenty of <3, good start. Oh, and I continued to show my crazy, that was def <3.

Nobody says there is a specific way you have to celebrate it! Sounds like a damn good way to celebrate it to me!
