    HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

I'm so late to post this but I had a super fun time last week spending NYE with my best and other friends.

Its been a way too fun week. I don't like to use the term new year's resolutions.... they just get broken in my vocabulary so I'll mention my anticipated new year's lifestyle changes

-lose weight to get fit and toned (both for aesthetics and performance... my stamina on the dance floor was pretty bad...)
-six figure income with my at home business by the end of the year (I've. Seen someone do it within 10. I can dream, right? If I have no social life this year, I'm cool with that)
-read more and expand my vocabulary. I feel like I speak like a middle-schooler (no offense)
-find more opportunities to dance with others and take dance classes/workshops
-get a better wardrobe and style for myself.
-learn how to love. I feel like I'm a terrible lover, so I'll start that by learning to love myself.
    -spend more time with family

Yeah this sounds about right. I hope you all achieve your new year lifestyle changes this year!
    Make it bold and beautiful.

For all that we have done, as a civilization, as individuals, the universe is not stable, and nor is any single thing within it. Stars consume themselves, the universe itself rushes apart, and we ourselves are composed of matter in constant flux. Colonies of cells in temporary alliance, replicating and decaying and housed within, an incandescent cloud of electrical impulses. This is reality, this is self knowledge, and the perception of it will, of course, make you dizzy.

Last year, I was home at midnight and my mum and I decided to go into our screened in porch and ring in the new year with bells. My dad had gone to bed already. We went out there in no coats and sock feet, but discovered to our chagrin that in closing the door to keep the cold air from going outside, we had locked ourselves out and had to pound the door loudly to try to wake my sleeping father up! This New Year's was a quiet one, but it was pleasant.

    This past year I have:
    - Finally caught up on my taxes! (I hate paperwork).
    - Sorted out all my papers and filed them.
    - Saved a bunch of money.

    This year I hope to:
    - Take a class which will bump me up to the next pay level.
    - Be done with pop entirely (I have a 365 day bet going with several people).
    - Improve my sleep habits by sleeping where there is no TV.
    - Do one job I dislike every day rather than saving it for some nebulous later time.
    - Practice a little on one instrument every day.
    - Buy a car.

I think these are all measurable and reachable goals.

Oh god. Look at that calendar. It's 2013.

    My goals this year:
    1. Write a novel first draft in February, and more throughout the year.
    2. Finalize my divorce (and hopefully not go bankrupt, if I can avoid it).
    3. Lose 30 pounds.
    4. Finish my form 45 and start applying for Grade 13 Tech positions here at work. (Major salary jump if I am successful.)
    5. Build my social circle. Is 7-8 new general friends and 1 deep friendship added to my current circle too much to ask for?
    6. Get my eldest into a suitable college.
