Default Spent a week in Utah.

    It was fun

Went snowboarding. I found that the people of Utah took an opposite approach to Northern California and Nevada people. Here, the majority are snowboarders. Over at Utah? I've noticed the skiers outnumbered the snowboarders.

Went to see The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (especially night time.) Didn't know you could not go inside the Temple, but that is understandable (especially the size of the thing.) So it was held sacred and all. Lights and all since it was getting close to Christmas, was very nice.

I also noticed something else... a lot of businesses shut down in Salt Lake City (with a couple of exceptions) on Sunday. I'm guessing it is because a lot of the businesses follow the rule of the Sabbath, especially so close to the Temple.

Listened to 101.5 The Eagle the.... WHOLE trip there. Never listened to country non-stop in my entire life. Yeah... I think this is the only time I had remember a radio station name OUTSIDE of my area.

The only problem? It was inexplicably cold... wherever I went to in Utah. It was colder than Reno.... and was definitely colder than the Northern California Valley.

How happy I am to go back to my mild winter here at home!

I went skiing there with my brother. Having only ever lived/skied in the northeast, I thought it was crazy how long the runs were. You just keep going and going. Super fun.

It was also kind of nice how friendly everyone acted.

To be honest, I am still a beginner when it comes to snowboarding. I went to Park City only to find out that it took me two hours to get from the top of the beginner's slope (or the easy slope...) all the way down there (would be a great place to learn snowboarding/skiing actually.) The funny thing was that I also saw a lot of beginners like me trying to get through that slope. If I could spend more time around there, I would more than willing to spend hours doing that slope. I mean, it was only a 30 minute drive from SLC... that is some greater convenience than I have!

The people there ARE kind though. If I had to choose an area that was particularly religious to ever live at, Salt Lake City or Orem might just be it (if I can get used to the cold.)

I love Utah! I was there for two weeks this summer. We spent a week at the Green Valley Spa in St George and a week in Draper. We also went inside the church of LDS in downtown SLC. Did you go to Harmon's City Creek? Greatest grocery store on the planet! I Have so many photos.

Unfortunately, no. I did go through the City Creek area, but not long enough to shop or anything. The majority of the time was spent sightseeing (especially the lights!)

Most of the time spent in Utah were in SLC, Orem and Park City.

I did walk around SLC and went to places like Red Rock and Red Iguana.

In Orem, I went to a local restaurant called Pizzeria 712.

It is too bad many of the night pictures I've token are blurry, otherwise I would love to show all of them. 24 images and 1 panorama

I did a few panoramas of what I was looking at at the temple, but they all came up blurry when you enlarge them. It's sad.
