Stainless steel; I'm hoping it won't be a rusty piece of junk in a couple years like the last couple I bought.

There's a nest of yellow-and-black flying insects in the ground near my house's back door. I suspect they're a species of little pollinating (not honey-making) bee, so I don't really want to eradicate them, but I'm not happy with where they have made their nest. They're smaller than yellowjackets and definitely nowhere near as aggressive. They're downright docile actually, but I don't want them coming in the house so I'd rather their nest was more than about seven feet from the door...

It's a night light with a motion detector in it, so it doesn't come on unless it's dark and it detects someone (me) walking by. I put it by my front door, so that I stop tripping over things when I get home after sunset.

Inspired by a recent conversation I decided to re-evaluate the number and location of these sorts of alarms in my home. As of right now I have precisely one battery-operated smoke alarm and no carbon monoxide detectors at all. I bought this CO detector and will mount it somewhere in the basement in the vicinity of the furnace room, and at some point in the near future I'll buy a couple new smoke alarms.
