Having the leather interior redone in my car because it reached a point where it began looking as if I left a rabid bobcat locked in there overnight. Also, replacing all the brakes. I still have roughly another 500-to-700 hundred dollars to throw at the car before it reaches the point of being in like new condition again, so I've prepared my hyperventilation paper bags accordingly.

Let me add a preface to my previous statement: I'm frugal as shit, and watch my bank account like a hawk, so spending this much money in the span of two days(around 350 bucks) makes me want to crawl under the covers and cry myself to sleep. Also, I have an arbitrary monetary amount that I must remain over, and if I ever go below that point I have a freakout that makes the Cuban Missile Crisis look like an overreaction to a Middle School bomb threat phonecall.

A friend of mine is going to have a baby within now and a few weeks, so I bought her baby a cuddly pinguin shaped cuddly toy. They also had a pink variety, but that one also had pink eyes and I thought the blue variety looked less disturbing. Not that I know what gender the baby is going to be (she wants to keep it a secret), so I sort of hope it's going to be a boy. You never know if someone's going to question it's blue limbs.

I also wanted to buy the baby a onesie from David and Goliath, but the only ones I thought they would like were blue, pink or grey. Grey would have been the best choice, keeping in mind that I don't know the baby's gender, but neither one of the parents looks good in grey, so I assume the baby wouldn't either. I considered buying a green onesie that said 'Grumposaur', because I thought it was funny and because the baby's parents look good in green so the baby will probably look good in green too, but I'm not sure the parents would have liked it.

Every time I walk into an electronics store, I say I'm just going to have a look around. Today I ended up leaving with this.

    Groceries. Whomp whomp
    You hem me in -- behind and before;

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me,
too lofty for me to attain.

I don't understand why people get these when we can use Google Maps on our phones.

It's like buying a phone, and then taking away all the functionality other than Google Maps.

    Maybe.

Personally, I'd rather have one device with one intended purpose functioning at maximum efficiency and giving me better performance, as opposed to bundling various different types of apps/devices in one unit, but of mediocre quality. Plus, using the phone as a navigation system kills your battery lifetime, and I'd just rather not bother with that potential headache in the event I need to make phonecalls while I'm also trying to figure out where I'm going.]

Plus, it cost a fraction less than a new phone would.

    Fair enough.

I would definitely prefer one device that does a hundred things reasonably well then a hundred devices that each do one of those hundred things marginally better. Far easier to carry around/take with you, and costs probably 5-10% of what those hundred devices would.

I am constantly driving around one of the most traffic-heavy cities in the country, and Google Maps on my phone gets me from point A to point B efficiently, adeptly avoiding traffic, and finds spots for me to meet people with relatively little hassle.

It gets the job done the way I need it to.

Speaker phone (or blue tooth) + Google Maps works well too.

And it sends and receives emails, text messages, and phone calls, stores voicemails, allows me to browse the internet, read and use excel, pdf, and word docs, and do anything an app designer is capable enough to come up with.

Albeit, not as efficiently as its counterpart device in which that functionality exists as its primary function.

Do I have a phone capable of posting on the forum? Yes. Does it irritate the fuck out of me to even attempt ever doing so? Yep.

Why? Because why bother wasting time fiddling with this when I know that I can make the exact same post in a much more time efficient manner.

Don't worry, though. On an intuitive level, I completely get the point of the other sides argument.

Taking your phone on vacation and using it gets to be pretty damned expensive when you have to pay roaming charges. A friend of mine recently went to Seattle for three days, loaded maps on his phone a handful of times, and spent about $45 for the pleasure.
