We'd go back to more intimate ways of murder. There's always the tried and tested weapons.

    Let's not forget the fist.

Truthfully, I think hand-to-hand combat is more natural to our flight-or-flight responses; in that sense, it would be more healthy as an outlet to our energy responses, but in another sense, it would encourage barbarism as a philosophy.

Maybe guns then aren't as bad as people might think, since we do have sports and other activities to act as natural outlets to our destructive instincts.

Guns are explosives - controlled projectile explosives.

We'd have religious zealots calling the end times out in the streets, because since when does shit just disappear all at once?

    It'd clearly be a miracle.

Guns use explosives but explosives aren't guns.

    We still have:
    Grenades
    Flame throwers
    Land mines
    Bombs
    Planes
    Missiles
    etc etc

This is not true from the perspective of a non-bubble dweller.

They are not a regular feature. They are a sensationalized feature, sensationalized by people who probably shower with a helmet and require safety goggles to eat their Wheaties in case they have a spaz attack and poke themselves in the eye with the spoon.

It would be a world in which the biggest and strongest of us would be vastly more powerful (relatively) than they already are.

    God made man.

    Sam Colt made them equal.

Perhaps if you read the comparative statistics on gun deaths, you might come to a different conclusion.

    bows and arrows.

really the motivation behind guns has nothing to do with guns themselves, and that motivation isn't going away soon.

Rather than an individual motivation it is a cultural imperative. For instance, the USA has a gun culture and Australia does not have a gun culture.

So Americans find themselves attracted to guns while Australians are repulsed.

And the USA has a huge gun industry and traffics guns to the rest of the world. While Australia is working with other countries to limit the trade in guns.

And just the other day the USA refused to join this group of countries to limit the traffic in guns.
