Really, just about everywhere, but there are plenty of exceptions for places that I'm familiar with.

fc: That DevaCurl definitely works. However, I can't tell if it is supposed to be pronounced Deevah or Dehvah?
For me, the smaller, the more intimidating. Large chain stores much less so, unless I'm in a particularly introverted mood.

And I second the restaurant thing, too. Not so much when I'm alone, but when its less than half-full.

-stores where everything is too expensive for me to buy
-leather/kink/etc stores (where everything is also too expensive for me to buy)
    -the sketchier sex stores
-makeup-specialist stores (where again everything is too expensive for me to buy)
    -tattoo parlours

actually I'll stop there, because I'm sure a lot more places make me uncomfortable. I feel like my ignorance on every product will be exposed if someone talks to me, and I don't want help. I like huge stores for that reason.

Awesome! I find I hear that often actually. He's afraid I won't like it but taking issues point by point I think that I'm actually more suited to live there than here.

Well, it's more suited to an introvert. A waiter/waitress will expect to just take a food order. A cashier will rarely ask or care about your day - you might get a hello I guess.

I think it's partly that - there's no doubt we don't understand prompt and efficient customer service like America... but also that reserved desire to be apart and not show emotions. stiff upper lip and all that.
