That's where it gets tricky with a Venn imo.

I can truthfully say that I'm not a living thing with x-ray vision... I can also truthfully say that I'm a living thing. This involves the notions that an "AND" statement (C-D) is only true if both propositions involved in the conjunction are true... if one, say C, is true, while the other, say D, is false, the conjunction C-D is false. Hence, I can say NOT 'C-D' while still truthfully asserting C
I think this is where the question lays the trap, and hence, why people get confused.

    Ohhh... thanks.

    I read P1 as E(x)((Ax-Bx)-(~Cx-Dx))

I complained about natural language being divorced in the first part, but then became guilty of divorcing it myself in the second!

    How embarrassing.

We all do it... I got a question wrong on the test, looked back, and wanted to slap myself. In logic, half the mistakes derive from misplaced parentheses.

You should see me working out logic problems... I don't usually use formal notation (which you can tell from my write-up)... instead, I nod my head like a kid trying to memorize the Koran...

There are SOME A.B.s........ <big pause>......... which are NOT ALSO C.D.s....

Again and again... until I get it... which is why I never mustered up the cojones to do mathematical logic... or finish Quine's Methods of Logic.... I will soon though...
