    Default There's hope for nerds....!

You gotta admire this guy's attempt to break out of nerdom....

Article taken from News of the Weird's Week of May 13, 2007 edition...

"Peru's Emilio Cordova, 15, won the South American chess championship in January, but rather than wind up a chess-obsessed nerd, he flew from the tournament site in Argentina to Sao Paulo, Brazil, and moved in with a 29-year-old stripper. After Emilio's two months in the fast lane, his father, with government help, went to Sao Paulo and snatched him back. [The Australian, 3-15-07]"

Either there are women out there who do have an attraction to nerds or he had more that just his winning check-mate move to offer.

Perhaps she was looking for a career and heard he had won awards for his pawn-directing in South America?

If I was that boy's mamma there wouldn't be much hope for that stripper.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

She could be a really nice girl.

Mind you my friend says she'd rather be a prostitute than a stripper/ lap dancer as at least that requires some skill, so perhaps your estimations are correct. He'd be the skilled labour in the house and possibly put upon to provide the bread.

Funny story, but nerds are fine just as they are imo. They don't need stripper validation. I'd like the story better if the nerd and stripper loved each other because that would be awesome romantic, but if it was about two people using each other than meh, not so much.

To me one of most romantic ideal is when two people from completely different worlds who are both looked down on for different reasons, find a common bond that inspires a deep mutual admiration and love that defies the rest of the world. So maybe i'll rewrite the story to serve my own porpoises.

I'm sure she is a very nice child molester. Except for that whole child molesting thing.
