I feel like one of the main, overlooked lessons of the HP series is: "Listen to Hermione." Especially in book 5!

I don't even know that it was that overlooked.

I agree with you somewhat although both of them dealt with their situations by never really growing up and holding on to the past.

Pocahontas for my spiritual and mediator moments

Esmeralda for my more righteous/humanitarian moments

Phoebe, from Charmed for my more goofy and naive moments

Kat from Ten Things I Hate About You, for my more bitchy/rebellious moments

Drusilla, from BTVS, and Tia Dalma from Pirates of the Carribean for my more lethal/vindictive moments

Satine, from Moulin Rouge in my more desperate/feeling caged moments.

I suppose the distinctions stand out for me because I have never liked Sirius as a character, much less identified with him, though he contributes nicely to the story. My responses to the two characters are essentially opposite.
I've been called a criminal, a terrorist, and a threat to the known universe. But everything you were told is a lie. The truth is, they've taken our freedom, our home, and our future. The time has come for all humanity to take a stand...

Ah, I see. I liked both of them as characters although I admit, both of them were very flawed and messed up. That's understandable.

I felt an immediate affinity for Ofelia in Pan's Labyrinth. Also if I was a fairy tale character I would probably be Alice in Wonderland.
