You can make a conscious decision to acting in a loving way (that benefits another in some way), although emotions are not so easy to trigger / put into place.

(i.e., you can "love" someone but you can't make yourself "fall in love" with someone.)

    Ditto.

You can't control attraction but you can control your actions. Two scenarios:

1,) you are attracted to a person who is married and has kids. Despite the connection you feel you can choose not to pursue that relationship.
2.) When the honeymoon phase of a relationship wears off and some days you have to choose to continue to be loving towards your partner even when they are less than ideal.

Subconscious and irrational feeling. Still, reciprocated love is a win-win, so it can be a pragmatic ''decision''.

We'll, wouldn't that mean if you aren't in love you aren't conscious?

I can be conscious and not in love, so it can't be love; consciousness, that is.

Though, what if consciousness isn't love?

Love, maybe, is only in the moment. That's why it feels like it's falling...a life with only the past or the future? What else is life?

I agree with Jennifer and Psuedo. I honestly think it can be. It depends on what kind of love you're talking about. So, yes, we can make a conscious choice to love someone or not to.
