What is filtering to your "me"? What is an obstacle? Be very specific. Pick it apart to its barest form. What is this independence? What is this unfettered Now acting out?

Like a dark planet that doesn't give itself away to any form of direct measure, and reveals itself only by the gravitational pull it excites in the visible common things around it, What is your unadulterated state?

Speak to me, dark planets. Keep trying.

    I can't. I don't know how.

When I hear a certain word - even a common one that's been turned over on its head - that fits 5,000 more into it like a neat little box and attaches a tiny atomic weight to a thought, my brain lights up.

Cascade is more herself when she is in transit because the path itself is the objective.

Now, you try. You can do it.

    Yes, that is good.

I am definitely more myself when in transit, and when my life isn't set completely in stone, with no hope or possibility; I do not like being still and stagnating, I become very unhappy. I want continuous movement, growth, and newness/experience/change. Something I wrote a few years ago which catches this... 'The anticipation, the future spreading out before me, the world vast and open all around…an existence ripe with possibility and novelty…' When I have an actual vision that I'm working towards. I have none right now.

I am mostly myself when I am laughing, or when I am surrounded by autumn foliage in a forest, with sunlight glowing all around.

I will come back to this when I'm in a more positive frame of mind. I'm mostly negative tonight.

Yes, go up on your mountain and take in the view and silence the voices for a while. *hug*

The alone thing... yeah. I feel most like myself when alone with my thoughts.

Also, if I'm reading something or listening to music & it really resonates with me. Basically, when something makes me feel, when I get a sense that I'm connecting to something important, then I feel like me because I feel more alive.

I feel detached from myself when I don't feel connected to anything important. That is why I often feel most alone in a crowd. I feel detached from the people & myself, because there is nothing significant between us.

If I feel like me around people, then it's because I don't feel stifled, but even those I'm close to can stifle me. When I was younger, my ESFP stifled me a lot because I'd go into "hypothetical analyzing" mode & she'd shoot me down with "that's not real" dismissals. I suppose I test the water carefully in discussing imaginative things or analyzing patterns/meaning with people now; if it's not humorous, few want to go that route. When I can have a conversation with someone and am genuinely engaged & mentally stimulated & see that they are too, though, then I feel like me.

I think when I'm teaching someone about something I feel genuinely interested in & I see that they are learning to appreciate via my teaching. Same goes for when I'm figuring out people like psychological puzzles & it proves helpful to them. I like to inspire people to be more, be themselves, feel happy, etc - as cheesy as that sounds.

I also feel like me when I'm coming up with ideas, when I'm able to make something beautiful, or express something articulately. Basically, when I can do what I do well, and when I see the future holding more promise that I can do what I do well more often or to a greater degree.

Often a star was waiting for you to notice it. A wave rolled toward you out of the distant past, or as you walked under an open window, a violin yielded itself to your hearing. All this was mission. But could you accomplish it? (Rilke)

I rarely ever lose myself, all other times is when I'm most myself.
