Default What's the nicest thing anyone's ever said to/about you?

I'm in the mood for some feelgood factor.

What's the best/nicest/kindest/most flattering thing anyone's ever said to or about you? Multiple answers allowed.

Hard to choose. I've often been told I'm kind, but not necessarily in some incredibly heart-melting poetic way

One of my best friends said "you couldn't be a bad friend if you tried." I really liked that.

Physical compliment: a fellow student told me that her husband, who'd come into class one day, had said I looked "really elven" (as in Lord of the Rings elf).

I'm afraid I have yet to encounter the "I can't live without you" or "you are my life and soul" type thing. At least in any kind of sincere, lasting way.

"You're smart." Especially if it's from someone I feel like I need to one-up. <3

Haha, sometimes I have a weak ego.

But more seriously: It really warms my heart whenever anyone expresses an uncomplicated and casual compliment, like when they're so frank and confident about what they're saying. I feel great. It's like someone has that kind of faith in me and it makes me feel awesome. :'D

So, the thing that has stuck with me that was more unusual and was meaningful/interesting to me in the context of the circumstance, was from my wonderful turkish romance... "You are life". Very simple, very open to interpretation, but... like I said, it stuck with me.

    "You aren't a complete freak."

    "Hey you did something right."

There is no longer anything to point to beyond, nothing Other, so it points pointlessly to itself.' - Iain McGilChrist

My dental hygenist once told me, "You've got the biggest tongue I've ever seen." On second thought, maybe that wasn't a compliment, but I took it as one.

    Lol awesome!

I think the best compliment I've ever been paid was when someone said to me: "Just when I think I have you figured out, you do something that surprises me."

Well this is the most hilarious compliment I've ever received:

When I worked at summer camp, a little firecracker of a girl (maybe 5 years old?), not even in my group, comes up to me one time, I am seated in the grass with some of my kids, grabs hold of my shoulders to look me in the face and says in pure amazement, "where did you get those GREEN EYES"

I always appreciate the sincere and simple compliments in general though.
Your kisses, sweeter than honey. But guess what, so is my money.

Did you tell her they were a two-for-one special at Walmart?
