    Just ask Charlie Sheen.
I didn't say anything about winning, and I'm not sure what some actor with substance abuse issues has to do with any of this, except as an example of someone who is unable to remain detached and objective. IRL, we can still only control ourselves, and in fantasy we can be more uninhibited about it, for obvious reasons. This seems to be all most people on the thread are doing, Z included. (Well, I do use calipers IRL, but all of my samples are inorganic.)

Yes, looking more rational would just be superficial. Actually thinking and acting more rationally, however, leads to much better outcomes. I would call that success, though, rather than winning.
I've been called a criminal, a terrorist, and a threat to the known universe. But everything you were told is a lie. The truth is, they've taken our freedom, our home, and our future. The time has come for all humanity to take a stand...

"The first person comes out ahead" meaning you say that people who remain coolly detached win. That's what that means to me. And this is why I reference Charlie Sheen:

I don't think emotional repression is the hallmark of excellence, sorry to disappoint.

    Clearly.

lol no...not hiding anything...you said winning is life, and I said so he with the most toys when he dies wins even though he's dead? (Because winning is life?)

And then the second part was more directed toward my conversation with @Coriolis
