I love long showers, especially at night before bed. In the morning, I try to do my skin care routine in the shower - minus moisturiser, obviously.

Every time I see people shower in tv or film, I get this strong urge to go shower (sometimes I do). They just appear so clean and peaceful.

Well, I guess i learned something today.
Skeptical but apparently not very practical? Ever had a slow moving or clogged drain? She hit her head and drowned. You can drown in a very small amount of water, my grandfather actually taught me that, but I think a shower wouldn't be that far fetched to anyone with life experience.

Should I file this away under "why intuitives die"? Im just kidding. Sorry.

I mean, if it's "water is scarce" and such, ok.

I should do it more. Some of my clearest thoughts come from a long hot shower.

Showers are my sanctuary. Unfortunately, some people in my house have realized this and turned down the hot water... so my hot showers are now warm showers.
My showers almost always take over 30 minutes unless I'm in a rush. 25 minutes of thinking followed by about 5 minutes of washing and then getting out of the shower.

When I need to relax I prefer a bath with foam, essential oils, and (most of the time) a book.

I feel this moment like a break. In the shower I still think of what I'm gonna do next.

I love to give phone calls in my bath and stay around 1 hour there, but I don't do it very often.

    A shower is quicker.

That's why I tend to avoid that somewhat snobbish hobby... Phone-bathing

Oh snap, I forgot to mention, at the end I usually turn it as cold as it gets for a minute or so. And I'd say no, I am not thinking clearly, haha. However, right after I turn it off, I'm really happy I'm not freezing

So cold water dousing is actually a part of the Russian martial art, Systema (one of many used by the U.S. secret service). They pour a bucket or two of ice cold water over them daily. Supposed to strengthen immunity and such.

I guess in the shower, that's my version, haha.

"To keep one's cool", in french = "Garder son sang froid". Sang froid meaning literally cool blood.

The modern idiom should be "To bucket one's russian secret cool blood".

Dictionaries are too old, even online ! I can guess the authors did not take any hot shower before writing down all those serious stuffs

It's my version. And here is the one of Woody Cool Blood Allen.

Well right now, technically, water is "scarce" in California, but that wasn't the point.

Other than that, it is because I take forever to get ready in the morning now, and the showering part takes the majority of the time.
