Me too. I've been gasping every time the NZ riders go over a jump.

But yay, NZ gets the bronze!!! Our first medal of the games

    Now for the individual.

    Silver! Oh yeah!

Beautifully ridden by Germany. And hey, I'm half German, I can dig them getting gold.

Did anyone else see that dog on day 1 that ran out during the men's cycling?

So I have the NBC Olympics app which lets you watch video and live streaming of events. When I logged in yesterday this was the video highlights for me:

Fencer gets ROBBED Of Gold Medal Bout

Here's a visual break down of what happened

Okay, that wasn't the actual title but after watching it I was like what happened? It is being deemed the most dramatic/controversial moment of the 2012 Olympics so far. Basically, between the referrees, the judges, and the time keeper, someone messed up. Shin (KOR) and Heidemann (GER) had less than 1 second on the clock and it kept resetting back from 0 to 1, keeping the action going. If you watch the video, it's very confusing.

Basically, the last time the clock goes to 0 ending the match and mysteriously sets itself back to 1 after the match ended and the winning score from Heidemann shouldn't have counted.

Shin stayed on the piste (the floor) in protest while judges decided.

Fencing buffs also say the referee did a bad job of controlling the starting action as Heidemann was edging up closer (Shin literally had her back up against 'the wall' by the time it was down to 1 second) and started her last action before 'start' was called.

With the Olympic staging and lighting, it made for some dramatic photos. The spectators also seemed to be on Shin's side and not on the officials.

Women's beach volleyball rocks. I'm a big fan of the american duo Misty May/Walsh, but the brazilians Larissa and Juliana seem to be the favorites. That's gonna be interesting.

Can anyone share a link indicating the Olympic champions nation wise over the years?

I searched and searched but couldn't find one. Urghhh!

Or is it that countries aren't chosen as champions but only individuals? is no award given to the champion nation?
