As an aside, I'm watching the Cross Country now and I must say the camera work and direction is absolutely abysmal. Did they pull in small children from the crowd to work as camera ops while they all went off to have a beer?

    Oh no you didn't.

But seriously, I think it's pretty good. Not amazing but honestly there's MUCH WORSE out there.

I can't believe you talked about ugliness (I agree about Spain ) and haven't mentioned the poor, unfortunate Russians. Whenever they come out in their tracksuits you can see the general humiliation written on their faces.

Yeah Mark Todd is looking good for a NZ medal even at his age!

Haha, yeah. 56 years old and still going strong. Apparently every time he goes to get on the athlete's bus, the driver stops him and tells him, "Sorry sir. This is for competitors only".

    Yes, she did very well.

Yeah, because we don't want to see any carnage...

But seriously, I don't like seeing people/horses injure themselves. A little bit of drama doesn't hurt, though.

EDIT: I take it back. That poor Canadian woman. And what happened to the Australian guy?

Nothing wrong with a little drama... part of the sport! Apparently the Australian guy fell at a simple fence near the end that they weren't even filming. His horse had slipped a couple times previous though.
I think the Canadian horse is still galloping round by itself!

Yeah, am worried about the Canadian rider. She didn't seem to be picking herself up :S None of the horses seem to have done themselves serious damage so far, at any rate. Hers looked like it was having an awesome time galloping off solo. It's an ill wind...

That is a fly tracksuit. I'm pretty sure it's a trick of the angle and fabric, but the Nike swoop looks like it has a crook, like it's a Chinese knockoff.

Im not a fan at ALL of the US uniform being made in China... I think it's a bit snooty of us to not ask our own country to make it. Belize by far looked the best. Classy.
