    Default Appropiate yet inappropiate jokes?

There is nothing funny about a man who just lost his left arm. But what if you ask that man for the time?

When making a joke, where is the line that should not be crossed? I'm thinking there is no line, as long as there are no hurtful intentions.

Mh, no matter how many dislaimers one might give, someone may choose to take offense, anyway.
But fuck it if they're that obtuse/can't take a joke.

Life's too important to take that seriously. ['m paraphrasing a sentiment stated by some dead famous guy]

I mean if you know the person well, and are aware of certain things that may be personally sensitive to that person- that's one thing- but it's obnoxious when strangers get incredibly worked up over another unfamiliar person cracking a joke.

Do you mean after witnessing the incident AND noticing a watch on the severed limb laying on the floor? Cuz he could be wearing a watch on his right arm, right...

I just recalled this joke /Ne
A very successful lawyer parked his brand-new Lexus in front of his office, ready to show it off to his colleagues. As he got out, a truck passed too close and completely tore off the door on the driver's side. The lawyer immediately grabbed his cell phone, dialed 911, and within minutes a policeman pulled up. Before the officer had a chance to ask any questions, the lawyer started screaming hysterically. His Lexus, which he had just picked up the day before, was now completely ruined and would never be the same, no matter what the body shop did to it.

When the lawyer finally wound down from his ranting and raving, the officer shook his head in disgust and disbelief.

"I can't believe how materialistic you lawyers are," he said. "You are so focused on your possessions that you don't notice anything else."

"How can you say such a thing?" asked the lawyer.

The cop replied, "Don't you know that your left arm is missing from the elbow down? It must have been torn off when the truck hit you."

"Oh my God!" screamed the lawyer. "Where's my Rolex?"

Is it considered a fashion statement if you wear a watch on your right arm?

I never knew there was a specific arm people wore watches on, to begin with.
But then, I have trouble even remembering what hand people are ''supposed to'' wear their wedding rings on..

Maybe it's the same as gay men with one earring. Wearing it left means they're sexually dominant and wearing it right means they're sexually submissive.
