If it's mace you spray in the bear's eyes, I really don't want to be standing that close.

If it's a huge mace you are beating him over the head with? I hope it's flanged and coated in paralytic poison....

It was crazy... in Yosemite they have such a problem with the black bears trying to eat people food. You have to keep all your food in a bear-proof container (bear can) on the trail, like when you're backpacking. In the valley, at the official campgrounds, they have big metal boxes with spring loaded locks. Everyone has to keep their toiletries and food in those boxes.

I think if a bear develops a taste for human food to the point it is breaking into tents and becoming aggressive and stuff, they tend to kill it because it becomes a danger to people. So there's a whole campaign about keeping the bears wild, keeping your possessions together, so that doesn't have to happen.

    What is a bear mace?
We live in aggressive times. Thugs in back alleys, aggressive drivers, annoying drunkards, uncontrolled dogs, uncontrolled teenagers... Sometimes you rather choose to stay at home, than facing them. But there is way, how to protect yourself, without carrying handgun, which often causes more troubles than helps to solve. It's called bear mace
    Nice marketing.

They said the thing they fear most is the human voice. But also if you just yell, stand up or together to look bigger, throw things or make loud noises, that should scare them.

My only real personal bear experience was in the White Mountains... saw it just off the trail, just as it saw us. It took off up the mountain real fast. This was also a black bear.

Posh. If he were really smart, he'd just hire a consultant to come in and cut them for him.

If he was lucky, maybe the bat would give the bear rabies.

Wait. Rabid bear. Yeah, that's not what we want here....
