I imagine love is a bit like porn. Can't define it, but I know it when I see.

And also, like porn, there's a ton of wildly different options out there, and somewhere out there there is one that is just perfect for you.

And they both often involve erections. Obviously.

A chemical reaction to external stimuli indicating another human (or otherwise) as being a fit mate, usually resulting after extended contact can result in more minor forms from less contact. Either grows with time or lessens with time. Sensation akin to heightened dopamine response and a sense of safety and social fitting.

There's no single definition of love anymore. People overuse the world in so many different situations that it has lost it's meaning. Trying to compile a single definition of love is seemingly pointless, especially if you want an answer that's short and general.

Love is when you view someone else's utility as your own. Or to translate that from economic terms to emotional: their happiness makes you happy and their sadness makes you sad.
Listen to me, baby, you got to understand, you're old enough to learn the makings of a man.

Or when you find yourself merging with them and melding. Doing away with your ego as you've known it, and opening up to a new reality. A reality that now includes them.
