    Never.
I once had a fish bone stuck in my throat, which was maybe my scariest moment. It was dawn and I needed a doctor to remove it.
My mom wanted to wait until the next day.

Once. I had pertussis (whooping cough) at ten. It was scary. I had been vaccinated as a small child but apparently the vaccinations don't last as long as was once thought.

I had bronchitis when I was about three and apparently it was serious. I only remember saying "I can't breathe properly", and also going for an x-ray. My parents were pretty worried, apparently.

I also had pneumonia (or some form of it - I think they called it "bronchopneumonia"?) when I was eleven, I think. I don't think there was any fear that it was life-threatening. But I was laid up for at least a couple of weeks. I'm pretty sure the bronchitis when I was a small child was much more serious.

Twice. Once was flu when I was about 14, which I suppose could theoretically have killed me. Second time was generalised peritonitis after a botched appendicectomy. That was some epic funtimes.

Flu. Pneumonia. Exfoliative dermatitis when I was a teen even though this isn't necessarily something contracted. Bladder then kidney infections.

Caught pneumonia in boot camp at age 19. Not the ideal place for said illness.
