Default Is my bourgeoisie purchase a moral travesty?

I needed a fan for my apartment. After looking at a couple department stores I was severely depressed at the prospect of buying any of those giant chunks of plastic. Then at Target I saw this sexy thing and bought it for $70:

Now, I'm somewhat aware of what $70 could contribute to a 3rd world family because $70 isn't exactly chump change to me.. you know, a couple pairs of kids shoes. I could live off of $70 worth of groceries for a month if I needed to. I could buy 3 plastic desk fans for $70.

The classic styling and all steel construction of this fan has overridden any guilt that I would normally feel. What do you think? Am I a morally bankrupt person with no concern for humanity?

I'm sure you're a fine human being but I think you spent too much. $20-30 window fans are much more effecti......Whoa!! Hold up! Did you say all steel?? I didn't realize they still made those. Do the folks on Ebay or Craigslist know about this Target special? I bet you could sell that as vintage, and then have money to buy a few more!

Guns should be smelted into steel fans....for the sake of humanity. (Just my opinion, not trying to derail.)

Can't tell if serious, or joke. Gotta buy yourself something nice from time to time.

I dislike buying plastic of any kind. Much better to get something of metal which will [hopefully] last longer. (tho it probably won't--nothing does)--As in appliances. You know? Like, srsly, everything breaks and no one seems to care. I've gone through like 3 laptop charger cords in a year, at 80 bucks a pop. Washers/dryers, etc. It ridiculous.

It works well enough for me... and it can get pretty darn hot here during the summer. Here's how they work.

yes, you are morally bankrupt because you chose to buy a $70 fan from target instead of giving me commission to build you superfan. I am the fan master, why did you not inform me of your need for a fan??? I can make fan out of bamboo, powder-coated mild steel, fiberglass, stainless steel or aluminium. only 69.99, no sales tax!!!
