I'm thinking about selling a kid and getting this. Or just ordering it and not telling my husband till we get it and hope he never notices the price.

It works like a "printer" but it actually cuts paper/vinyl/heat transfer. As opposed to buying a cartridge your computer tells the machine where to cut.

    Agree!

    And @Qlip morally bankrupt? Never.

Yes, your purchase was a moral travesty, and your dreadful thread title continues to sinfully besmirch the inherent goodness of the English language (properly used.)

I know people who spend that much or ball park figure on alcohol or alcohol and admission to a club and a taxi a couple times a month, some of them once a week, a ticket to a music gig could cost as much, all choices which you have nothing to show for it. Assuming that you're not a hoarder or have space problems a purchase which will last, its pleasing and practical, serves a good purpose, I see no problem at all.

Consumer choices are some small consolation in a capitalist economy, when everyone gave up on overcoming alienation or fufiling enlightenment hopes that consolation took on a very important character, it still is the one way most people try to self-actualise.

I agree about the alcohol and the club, but I wouldn't say tickets to a concert leave you with nothing to show for it. Nothing tangible, maybe. But I've had many profound emotional experiences at concerts, both rock and classical. Worth $70 to me.
