    Default Your Favorite Class

What was the best class you had and why? (put class names in bold please)

My favorite class is a tie between Social Psych & Film in my senior year of college and Algebra II in high school. In both cases, I really loved and admired the teacher. The social psych teacher, Curtis Hardin, was brilliant but cursed a little bit in class, just enough to bridge the gap between student and teacher. The movies were good, but I gained an appreciation for the essence of social psych, which imo is more a matter of perceiving the world with a certain clarity, rather than just understanding concepts.

The Algebra II teacher, Manny Katz, was the coolest INTP teacher. Total nerd, totally quirky, super-smart and mentally organized, and into Zen, I found out later.

Tie between European Political Systems and Politics of Russia/CIS. I actually felt like I learned something useful and the professor is great. It made me not just another dumb American when it comes to international politics.

EDIT: I forgot Modern Middle East

Fluids and Heat Transfer in college was surprisingly neat. the partition functions in Physical chemistry were as well.

Geometry was pretty neat, as well being a fun class to be in socially. Chemistry in high school was also pretty fun socially, as were some classes senior year.

World Civ I -- Ancient civilisations. Nuff said. It wasn't really about the teacher, but he was a little wacky and charismatic. The interesting tales he told were definitely riveting. It was 2 years ago, and I just remember loving every moment of that class. The first civilisations, Ancient Egypt.. Roman history.. Middle, Medieval & Dark Ages.. So interesting!

I don't want it, I just need it, to breathe, to feel, to know I'm alive.

Never take life to seriously.. No one gets out alive in the end anyway.

    The Sociology of Mental Health

Excellent class taught by my all time favorite professor! We learned about the history of how mental illness was viewed by society, how mental health has been treated over the years and what social factors could contribute to mental problems today. Also the interactions between those with mental problems and the rest of society and vice versa. The professor had worked for a mental institution at one point and had a lot of really interesting stories that went along with the class, and we watched a lot of video clips as well.

All around a very interesting educational experience.
