    Default Perigee

It was wonderfully orange and looked enormous earlier in the evening. This crappy cell phone pic of the view from my back yard, shrouded in cloud and taken with a completely inadequate camera, doesn't do it justice.

The next two full moons coincide with the moon's orbit's perigee: it's about 25,000 km closer to Earth than it normally is (~384,000 km).

Hate when my name appears on that board, means I have work:

'One of (Lucas) Cranach's masterpieces, discussed by (Joseph) Koerner, is in it's self-referentiality the perfect expression of left-hemisphere emptiness and a precursor of post-modernism. There is no longer anything to point to beyond, nothing Other, so it points pointlessly to itself.' - Iain McGilChrist

Suppose a tree fell down, Pooh, when we were underneath it?"
"Suppose it didn't," said Pooh, after careful thought.
    Piglet was comforted by this.
    - A.A. Milne.

I'm not here right now, but I took the picture a week ago, and I'll be back in about 45 minutes:
