    Default What Have You Lost?

I'd like to know. This concept comes from a book I am reading. Will you write about something you lost? Anything at all. Post more than once if you would like to, but please, no lists. Thank you.

Not sure which definition of lost you mean? I've misplaced and forgotten about stuff, and I have lost the love of my life but I can't really compare the two (without making a list lol)

i think the thread is supposed to be a collection of anecdotes about things that have been lost, from any angle you desire.

I lost a box of books. They were a great find. I remember going to an antique store with my then wife and seeing this cardboard box with all these book club books with garish covers. They were all '70's Science Fiction authors that I've come to love. They were about exploring radical new ideas for the time, social and perceptual.

The last time I saw the box it was in the second floor landing room of my fixer upper house that was to be my family home into perpetuity. The house was demolished last week, the debris was hauled away and now my books are gone. I have electronic versions on my e-reader, but they are a weak substitute.

    My innocence.
I used to be pure. But then I read this.

A man builds. A parasite asks 'Where is my share?'
A man creates. A parasite says, 'What will the neighbors think?'
A man invents. A parasite says, 'Watch out, or you might tread on the toes of God... '

A marriage + twenty years of my life that I'll never get back.

Not that it didn't hold some precious things for me; but at least in terms of where I am now, sometimes I wish I had made very different decisions way-back-when.

I have lost my way multiple times in life. Having to learn to course correct in the heat of living is not always possible with grace.

    Still happening.
