I wasn't bullied very much. I was always the smallest kid in the class, but if someone tries to intimidate me I lose all sense of self-preservation which was usually enough to make them back off. Plus, I often had big, protective friends.

The only time it was rough was when I was bussed for school from my very poor neighborhood to the elementary school where a lot of kids from one of the richer neighborhoods attended. That was a new kind of bullying and I didn't know how to deal with it. I'd just as soon not ever see those kids again. If I don't see them, I can believe Karma took care of them, even though I know that's probably not the case.
“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

I wasn't bullied that much because I was feisty myself, but some of them were much older and much bigger thus it didn't make much sense for me to resist. They were not really violent, but I would still enjoy to have an apology, or rather, I would really be happy if they were to die in pain (of course, I would feel bad for their family, but hey, they decided to bully me so...who cares.). Unfortunately, I have a really good memory so I remember what each one of them did to me - nothing serious, but still purposeful - and since it was purposeful, it's completely inexcusable.

Yeah, I feel this too, and struggled to voice it. You said it well. Not really interested in someone who picked on me continuing to apply the power balance of me being under them.

No, not really. A lot of the things I was bullied for have now become part of an identity which I've become cool with. I wasn't physically abused very much, probably because I was one of the bigger kids, and perhaps I had a somewhat intimidating presence.
