Anything more direct and with harsher negative consequences for the other person. Of course, I don't think revenge is smart in general, but if you're going to do it, I say do it all the way.

Flaunting success as revenge is...not really revenge, IMO. I mean, it's more like dressing up something you did (that wasn't in the spirit of revenge) as revenge because it makes you feel better.

At the moment I think so. Someone I used to know told me that they would post pics of themselves having a great time or doing well in the hope that people who'd ditched them or been mean to them would see them and become jealous.

The correct answer is a mixture of these two.

The desire for revenge is an immature psychological drive.

The desire for justice, however, is not.

    Seek justice, not revenge.

And learn to discern the difference.

That's a really lame thing to do.

The fact that they would do that means they already lost.

    Surprise surprise.

I'm sure Christ would strongly endorse it...

There's use of a hyperbaric recompression chamber in Tom Clancy's Without Remorse that comes pretty close to my definition of the best revenge.

Whatever you call justice is probably more based on revenge than you imagine.
Justice revolves around 2 basic values: reparative and punitive.
The latter is essentially a vengeance, despite the fact most people choose to ignore this factor.

Believe it or not, I'm well aware of this issue.

It was part and parcel of why I wrote what I wrote.

I've already been through that stage.

    There's a stage beyond it.
