We've all probably heard of the spats in the last week or so on airlines over leg room. Today a third occurred.

But getting back to the first incident, where a guy put a Seat Lock on the seat in front of him (so that it wouldn't recline) and the lady threw a glass of water in his face... well, here's even more context:

That incident came days after a man on a United Airlines flight used a product called a Knee Defender to keep the seat in front of him from reclining. The woman in front, unable to recline, got into an argument with the man and reportedly threw a cup of water in his face. Both passengers were seated in United’s Economy Plus section, which gives fliers extra legroom for an extra fee.
Yes. They were already seated in the expanded legroom section.

It makes sense. If it's already someone who'd pay more for extra leg room, then it's someone who'd go to other lengths for leg room.

To be honest, I have extremely long legs and found the Economy Plus seating on my last flight to be fine even if someone leans back a little... in comparison to the cramped coach area. But the space you get might depend on airline.

The way I look at it, millionaires do lots of things (and sometimes cause lots of problems) to get more money, which they have absolutely no need for. Same thing here. People fixate on things, and then their desire for them disconnects from practicality. So I mean it makes sense in terms of the psychology matching the situation, not that it is actually at all rational on this guy's part.

And you think you have the right to decide what millionaires "need" because?

Same way I determine how much leg room an airline passenger needs.

    I was being cheeky.

Don't doubt I could give an in depth explanation of my thoughts on wealth and ethics and so forth. The forum is littered with examples of my ability to do so. But I frankly find you to be one of the people I have least enjoyed debating on this forum in all its history (perhaps you don't remember that we've had disagreements before). The returns are not worth the investment, and I'd rather spare this thread, so this is the last I will say about it.
