If I could plant memories and suggestions then I would choose telepathy, if it was simply reading minds I'd not want it because I can tell what most people are thinking already or guess pretty well at it, even if you knew what people were thinking so what?

I think I'd like the power of prophecy because I'd do the lottery every week and win.

I'd pick telepathy; I'm an INTP and already have natural predictive capabilities, which will only be jacked up if I can read people's minds. (The problem is more learning how to shut their thoughts out so I don't go on overload or lose heart in humanity.)

EDIT: Okay, Lark gets bonus points for choosing to leverage prophecy against the lotto; then again, I could just read people's minds at BlackJack at the casinos. Six of one, half-dozen of another.

That sounds good, since I can still make myself fly with Telekinesis (by moving myself); and I can also cut open people's skulls and steal their powers, MUA HA HA HA!!!

Those were my thoughts as well. In the end, money wouldn't be a concern with any of these 2 abilities.

I'd want prophecy to be able to prevent accidents involving me and people I care about. I rarely care about what people are thinking. Even then, most people are pretty predictable, not to mention body language alone already tells a lot.

both sound really tempting, but i think i would choose neither. telepathy would be the quickest and most efficient way to drive myself completely insane (especially if combined with supernatural-level empathy) - it would be like experiencing mind rape 24/7, all the time, having everyone else's thoughts and emotions intrude into my mind against my will. i would be aware of what is going on in darkest corners of other people's minds, which is not something i want. and the ability to foresee the future would make life much less intriguing. there would be nothing to anticipate, or to hypothesize about, because everything would already be known.

    Amazing story.

Telepathy is tempting because it's pretty difficult for me to know what others are thinking (so many possibilities!!! ) but I probably would be driven mad. Besides, there are some things that once learnt, can't be unlearnt.

Prophesying, on the other hand, would give me the end result and I could "reverse-engineer" the situation to get to the root. Of course there could be endless roots but this is more manageable than constantly being bombarded by people's thoughts (not to mention the varying levels of grossness of those thoughts :horor.

I'm guessing you have at least a basic control of said power.

I'm going for prophesy as you could have some serious fun with knowing what is coming next, NOTHING would be a risk anymore and many doors would become open to you.

Prophecy seems infallible while people's thoughts are not. While you could read the mind of a prophet, or foresee the thoughts of the future, having the innate ability to forecast would be the best.

Prophecy won't work for those who want to change fate. It's best used for accepting what is to come and learning to deal!
