I remember Mad magazine running a cartoon segment like that in the 80's -- things to say and things not to say in the same situation.

One situation was when a guy cop comes to the window after pulling you over and says, "Ok, where's the fire?"

Things to Say: "In the brilliant radiance of your blazing eyes, officer." [if you're a woman]
Things Not to Say: "In the brilliant radiance of your blazing eyes, officer." [if you're a man]

Not to doubt your skillz, but maybe he was just a nice guy. I've been pulled over maybe 6 times and three of those times I just got a fix it ticket (taillight), or warnings, and I'm a guy. I figure our police force are just nice guys... or maybe I have skillz. Hmmm...

    Awesome.

I normally just act polite and respectful and never get tickets, but whatever works.

They don't cost that much, you could always get a pair.

I'm polite as well. The only traffic violation I've recently gotten was pretty bad -- I was accused of a rolling stop at a stop sign I know I stopped at, but it just is so pointless to contest anything.

The funny part is that my insurance card was still in my old name, but I think he assumed the person sitting next to me was my husband.

As an ISTJ I have to strongly object such behaviour. If you are speeding, then you'd better accept your punishment for your reckless actions.
