    No

I walk up to people's houses and ring the doorbell

I would never walk into someone's house uninvited

    I am not a vampire

    I am polite

I don't even walk into FRIEND'S houses uninvited, which may be why the man jokes that I'm a vampire (combined with the fact that the only time he ever sees me sleeping is during the day, I'm not a big fan of garlic and I burn easily in the sunlight )

There is nothing rational about it

Of course, vampires have to be invited in anyway.
Maybe you should have used lycans in your example.
