Question Would you buy/rent a home with a sordid history?

This question has been asked rhetorically in about a dozen or more horror stories over the decades... most recently American Horror Story. But I know a lot of people are superstitious for various reasons about such things and wondered how many people would/wouldn't pass up a good deal on a place to live if something violent and/or atrocious had happened in it prior to their move-in.

    So... would you?

Of course. However if there were reports of ''bad spirits'' or some kind of ''bad energy'', I would want a 20% discount. Oh, and no chandeliers over my bed, thanks.

    I wouldn't care at all.
I'm not very superstitious. And I kind of like dark sordid histories :P
Makes the place unique and exciting and just dreary enough that it's cool.

I would buy it. Not rent it though.

I would buy a house with a bad history. Things like that intrigue me. Like when a murder or suicide had been commited in the home, you could probably guess I would look at it, find out about it, scream out in joy, and buy it

Depends. If it was cheap because everyone were scared to buy it then yes. What comes to renting, well i prefer to rent a apartment owned by the city and history wouldnt have any effect on the price and i wouldnt even know the history anyways, and wouldnt really care, as long as there isnt still blood around or anything.

I'll be honest, I wouldn't. I'm a bit of a pussy when it comes to that stuff.

No. Ghosts piss me off. You can't do anything to them either.

Why not? My only concern with the history would be how much of a discount I can wrangle out of the seller based on the sordidness.

I would rent it, but don't know if I would buy it. Not because I believe in ghosts (LOL) but because it might pop up in my mind randomly and depress me. Only if the history was really really bad though, like horrible murders and so on.
