My 16 yr old self wouldn't be happy about how things thus far even though now I have a college degree it wouldn't have been enough since I didn't have a 4.0 or a million years of internships. The fact I took time off studies after graduating to no benefit would have infuriated my 16 yr old perfectionist self further. The fact I supported my parents while in school and then lived on their frail backs after graduation would have made my 16 yr old self cry to sleep. My 16 yr old self would have a heart attack upon hearing I still don't have a driver's license nor do I have a car.

My 16 yr old self would be pleased that I found a desired career path and a plan to get there. However, I wouldn't be happy when I realize how difficult it's going to be or how flexible my plan has to be.

Dear 16 year old self, don't do anything different or else I might start fading, starting with my appendages, like Marty McFly.

EDIT: Wait, that only works that way if you mess with your parents pre-you on the timeline.

Love the idea of this thread..
I want to think about it a lil bit, but immediately I know that I'm a lot more open and willing to be the first person to speak and put myself out there for the sake of a relationship.....

My clothes fit. I remember wearing XL and 2XL sizes, although I am large and in charge....My jeans would hang off my butt and all that. Now it looks so sloppy and actually foolish.

I have more- I'll come back.

This convo reminds me of that South Park episode when Stan turns 10. Classic Episode.

    Cool thread idea.

    -I haven't finished college
-I haven't had a stable job situation for any long period of time

    -I haven't grown the beard I expected
    -I haven't become a writer

As a 16 yr. old, my expectations were pretty shaky; I doubt it would have affected me much. However, it would be funny to send other things to my 16 yr. old self...

Actually I'm pretty damned content. I think it's because I got laid since I was 16.

    - I haven't written a book yet

I would write down my long-term goals in a similar way and keep the list if only I weren't afraid of facing terrible disappointment 10 years from now.
I don't really remember my 16 year old self even though she's only died 2 years ago.
