Ha. That sounds like one of those "Pin location manager" vocations.

i.e. the kid who picks up the pins in a pub skittles team.

-How beautiful, this pale Endymion hour.
    -What are you talking about?
-Endymion, my dear. A beautiful youth possessed by the moon.
-Well, forget about him and get to bed.
    -Yes, my dear.

Default What do you guys do for a living?

Working as a Marketing Analyst right here, although I studied Chemical Engineering in college. Have only been working 7 months and will be transferring to another rotation in February. Pay is pretty good for someone my age - the same as any starting Chem E salary, but the work is pretty boring and mind numbing. I hate getting up early every single day, and dealing with typical corporate bullshit. My life is kind of like Office Space except less programming. Haven't been around long enough to tell you if this is a good gig relative to other careers

Anyway what do you guys for a living? Would you recommend it to others? Also some perspective is nice - how many years have you been working in the field, what industry are you in, etc. Also what are some common public misconceptions about what you do? What are you general likes and dislikes? What's your day at work like?

I hang out here and talk smart. Doesn't pay very well. . .

Edit: Hey! You aren't trying to measure my social status, are you?

I am an automobile electrician at a car shop, and a technician at T-Mobile (guy who fixes your broken warrantied phone).

Sadly enough, I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Biochemistry.

    Wierd huh.

I am in your exact boat brother.

    Graduated in May 2008

So far, procrastination has my bills covered. Can I make it 'till 80?

Retail/services is as close as I found to mine-- I work at the god-awful KFC here in town. The people are alright, but the pay and the hours aren't so fabulous.

I'm an artist/writer on the side, but that never makes me any money.... sadly.

I may have posted on this thread previously; the poll tells me I've answered it once.

However, my job has changed since I answered the poll. Now I'm a manufacturing supervisor at a pharmaceutical plant.

Bizarre answer here. I'm a stay at home mom and a few years ago that would have been my full answer. I have since gotten to the point where my hobbies have become a nice amount of part time work.

I contract in photoshopping for a company online and I also am a virtual actor in a company that does work for the military and various private and public companies. We were actually featured on modern marvels on the history channel.

My kids are home sick from school today and I'm also working a full day at work today. It's a pretty neat little career to have. Because I am a contractor I also get to pick when I do or don't want to work.
