    Default Youngme - Nowme

"I remember I used to be totally into nostalgia."

Okay, I'm admitting it--I have a nostalgia obsession, and especially for childhood photos. I love looking at them, mine or anyone else's. Even if I only know the person a little bit, it's neat to observe the filament of self that runs from then to now.

So I was tickled to find this website with childhood photos recreated by the subjects as adults. Some of these are hilarious. Some are sweet. Some are.. I don't get it.

Second admission: I had Martoon's "potty commando" photo series in mind when posting the link here. I hope he'll submit them to the site.

That's so cool. I love the similarity in facial expressions.

The ones that managed to make their pictures really mirror the originals, especially in the facial expressions, were the funniest to me, too. I really really liked the one of the guy in his mom's arms as a baby, then again in his mom's arms as a BIG adult, wearing a very unhappy expression. I don't know, that one might have been an exception to the rule.

    Cool site, Ives!

I really like that site. Thanks Ivy for the link!
Those pictures where mom or dad and the child (first a baby then a bit bigger baby...) are funny.

Jen - I like your pictures too. Your smile has stayed the same.

I reserve that kind of disgusting content for this site. The members here get special privilege.

Um.... maybe not what everyone was expecting... but it's sort of humorous...

    <Pic deleted>

What's funny is how you can still see the same contours of the mouth and eyes.
(And how much better I dress when my mom isn't buying my clothes.)

AND MARTOON -- RUN THE POTTY PICTURE! DO I *HAVE* TO DIG UP MY COPY??? *threat*

Jen, I love how your smile is still the same. Isn't that so weird, how so much changes and yet the kernel of everything is still there?

    Very cool!

Jennifer, you have the same look in your eyes. I can't put my finger on it. Maybe deep? Absorbing?

    This one is great:
