Ever wished you could know what other people think of you?
Let's say some magical genie or something comes along and offers to give you an ability that would allow you to always know what other people think of you--the good and the bad. Would you accept this offer?
Yes. More knowledge = more control. Would make my decisions easier.
A man builds. A parasite asks 'Where is my share?'
A man creates. A parasite says, 'What will the neighbors think?'
A man invents. A parasite says, 'Watch out, or you might tread on the toes of God... '
I might like to know overall but I'd rather not know during each specific instance.... that could get terribly distracting after a while.
I agree. I could probably use more constructive feedback, but only now and then.
Hope is the denial of reality. It is the carrot dangled before the draft horse to keep him plodding along in a vain attempt to reach it. We should remove the carrot and walk forward with our eyes open. -- Raistlin Majere
Absolutely, I've wished this. To the point of deciding it was best for my mental health to drop it. If given the option, I probably wouldn't want to anymore. Being able to know exactly what people think of me could lead to lots of manipulation temptation. You know what they say about power.
