I'm not sure if it's imitation of, say, an ExFJ or simply ENTP charm, but I've got a great shmoozy/customer-service persona that allows me to, as my good ISTP friend says, "say all the right things at all the right times."

At any rate, I get a kick out of the "see if I can make people feel good" game. Just gotta make sure I don't get too wrapped up in treating it like a game (I feel like this would be less of a problem in an ExFJ - making people feel good is more of an inherent things they do without thinking).

More than one irl NT has thought I was an INTJ or INTP. Just the other night, an INTP I've known for a little while who knows of mbti thought I was a definite IN, thought I was probably a T, and ended up saying P. We were also with my good INFJ friend who is extremely F/Fe (compared to me), and more J-ish than I. So whenever I am compared to her, I'll never be typed the same as her. Also we were with a bunch of silly ESF women that night, so compared to them I'm not F in the slightest.

Externally I'm not terribly Fe in the end, and it's not a strong driver in terms of my dominating characteristics / my external disposition. It only sees the light of day in that I'm cited as having good communication and being universally pleasant and such to work with.

Compared to many female T's I'll come across softer and more F, and compared to most female F's, I'll hands-down seem T. I identify less with strong F's than to T's, typically. It's probably a lot to do with the dom-N, too.

All of this is so incredibly relative.

also sometimes ESTJ bitch mode (not that ESTJs are bitches, but ENFPs leading with Te sure are)

I think I mimic EFJs when trying to, uh, make people think they are doing what they want when they are actually doing what I want them to do.

And I can seem like an IJ in school environments, if I start to get stressed/anal-retentive about something. Otherwise I seem like the EP I am.

Being a bit of a chameleon INTP, it kind of comes with the job. It's not so much as mimicking other functions, than it is molding ones own to better fit the immidiate environment.

So I'd call it adaptation, rather than transformation.

At parties and social gatherings where I'm comfortable, I often slip into an ESFP/ESFJ role, making sure EVERYONE is having fun, everything is going swimmingly and keeping things moving to the point that, if we're in a restaurant or pub for instance, the manager/servers usually address me when they want to relay something regarding the group. I'm often told I 'bring the fun' and variations thereof.

    I lol'd at this!

As for the types I mimic -- I don't really think I mimic any types, but if unintentional type-mimicking is what makes people sometimes mistype me, then I mimic:
