“There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves orcs.”

And not to state the obvious, but; no Funkytown?

    This clause ruined my plans:

12 songs remaining. Choose an MP3 no larger than 10 megabytes.

    My intended playlist was this:

    DARKER SHADES OF GRAY
    1 Bloodlines -- Ministry
    2 Downvain -- Aesma Daeva
    3 Sordid -- Amon Tobin
4 Dissolved Girl -- Massive Attack
    5 Magenta -- Hooverphonic
6 Meister Petz -- Peace Orchestra
    7 Hellsbells -- Koop
    === Revontulet -- Sonata Arctica ===
7 What Does Your Soul Look Like Pt. 1 -- DJ Shadow
    6 Sandpaper Kisses -- Martina Topley-Bird
5 Enchant Me -- The Amalgamation of Soundz
    4 Surrender -- Soulstice
3 Magic of The City -- Solar House
2 The Sensual Woman -- The Herbaliser
1 Speak Low (Bent Remix) -- Billie Holiday
    LIGHTER SHADES OF GRAY
    Not really.

As long as you're stating the obvious, why not complain about no Mr. Roboto?

The short answer: the site only takes mp3s and I have some iTunes files that won't work. And I don't have FunkyTown, although I should, dammit.

Can't believe I missed a classic geektune like that. Doh!

Okay, here's an idea. If anyone else posts their muxtape here, don't tell us what kind of music it is (and don't give it a meaningful name). That way we can try to guess what kind of stuff you're into, and see if we're right.

Here's mine, and I can pretty much guarantee none of you have ever heard any of these songs: martoonster.muxtape.com
(And I'll be curious to know how far off I was from anyone's guess.)

The last one on there, "Baby got the Funk" is my big bruddah and a couple friends just playing around. It's about his kid's dirty diaper. He's on guitar and vocals. And yeah, he shouldn't sing. But he makes up for it with the guitar.
