I love that shoes song, Martoon. I was hooked when he chose the correct verb to go with "none" in one of the first lines.

The first three songs are fun. They sound a little bit like a retro swing band from around here that got some nationwide radio play in the 90s (Squirrel Nut Zippers). They are a hoot to see live.

    Your brother's pretty talented, too.

A Newsboys song, wow. I have the CD with that song cause someone gave it me. Did you ever check out their new album, Go? I have it, but I never listened to it yet because I got 10 new CDs at the same time. I was on amazon with credit card, and I just went nuts.

Cream of Tartar is (well, was apparently) an Australian band (mp3 page here). That's from 2003, I can't really find anything else on them. And I don't even like the other 3 songs on that page, but "Shoes Don't Fit" really hooks me, too.

Erin Jaimes is a local blues band in Austin, TX. A friend/coworker happened to see her in a bar down there and bought a CD and brought it home. Probably my favorite CD. And yeah, that first song does sound a little like Squirrel Nut Zippers. And "Checkin' On My Baby" has one of my favorite lines in a song:

    You came home this morning
    with lipstick on your shirt.
    It seems some other woman
has been diggin' in my dirt.

    Gotta love that expression.

And you probably noticed my brother's no lyricist.
