A sample written at moderate (i.e., normal) speed...

(If I slow down, the lines are straighter and the letters are more uniform; if I write hastily, things get a bit sloppier)

And while I don't expect you to save the world I do think it's not asking too much for you to love those with whom you sleep, share the happiness of those whom you call friend, engage those among you who are visionary and remove from your life those who offer you depression, despair and disrespect."

Awww! Thank you! When I was in grade school my handwriting sucked... and it took years of self-teaching to get past that. A calligraphy pen was indeed good inspiration and help.

I like this. Reminds me of the swirly quality of my writing, just much more neater!

I felt a little ashamed of my handwriting, so I drew some cute stuff at the bottom to show that I have SOME fine motor skills...

And yes I misspelled raccoon in my normal handwriting and mis-corrected it in the "nice" handwriting. Yet another reason computers are amazing.

Here is a very small sample. It is from my blog.

    My comment from that day:

    December 31, 2009

Last day of the year. As I was reading Alec's bedtime story to him last night, my own note in the inside cover really stood out to me. I don't even remember signing it as "Dad" but there it is, looking natural as anything. It is a completely new name to me but to him it is what I have always been and always will be.

Awesome drawings! The hedgehog made me smile, and I needed that.

    Thanks.

And FWIW, I think your handwriting is just fine. I could read it as fast as my eyes would go, and to me that's all that really matters.

Some lyrics to a song I was just listening too.

    Pretty bad right?
